Team record, playing formation and your personal stats?

The Arkansas Razorbacks soccer team is D1 and competes in the SEC/ Southern Eastern Conference. We were 1st place in the SEC league play and ranked 6th in NCAA.

Our playing formation varied and changed a lot based on our competitor’s formation. We often played a 4-4-2, 4-3-3, or 3-5-2. It is important for players exploring college play, to pay attention to style of play and coaching styles. Arkansas is a pressing team.

I played in 14 games during the season including in a NCAA *quarterfinal game (Sweet 16).

What position do you play and how much playing time do you average a game? 

I played forward and midfield. One of my roles as a freshman was a game changer. Game changers come into the game to change momentum and to give the starting players recovery time.

What is the biggest difference from club and the college game?

For me the biggest difference from club was that college play is much faster and more physical. You also spend a lot more time watching film and prioritizing set pieces.

Do you feel Players SC prepared you for the college level? How?

My college preparation was impacted by the Covid pandemic as we were unable to train and compete as much as previous years. I believe it is important to have a good relationship with your club coach and to communicate with them, ask for individual meetings to discuss your recruitment goals, and to play at showcase tournaments where you have the opportunity to be seen by college coaches. Players SC helped provide those opportunities and supported my goals to play at the collegiate level.

What has been your favorite moment / accomplishment / achievement of your Freshman year?

So far my freshman year has been better than I ever imagined. Through athletics I met a lot of great people and was able to travel to many new places. My favorite memory was spending a week in Orange Beach for the SEC tournament.
