Players North Soccer Club is proud to announce the hiring of Jason Goodson as our new Director of Coaching.
Jason arrives after spending the past 12 years as one of colleges most successful and sought after Recruiting Coordinators while at Washington State University, The Ohio State University and the University of Kentucky. Holder of both a USSF “A” License and a NSCAA Premier License, he is also in the final phase of completing his UEFA “B” License. With 2 former players on the current U.S. Women’s National Team and 1 former player on the U.S. Men’s National Team, his experience and credentials are second to none. That achievement is only surpassed by the 31 NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) Players that he’s worked with during their youth careers.
Prior to his career within the college ranks, Jason worked with Leahi Soccer Club out of Hawaii before becoming the Director of Coaching with Ho’okalakupua F.C.. After 13 highly successful years in the Islands and making a name for himself as one of the elite youth coaches in the Country, he was recruited by Les Armstrong and Sereno Soccer Club out of Scottsdale, Arizona. As one of the elite power houses in youth soccer at the time, Sereno was consistently ranked 1, 2 or 3 in the Country by Soccer America. Jason joined the full time 9 member Pro-Staff as the Youth Technical Director where he served until leaving for new experiences at the college level. While at Sereno, he had the opportunity to work with and coach some of the best players in the Country; most notably Sydney LeRoux, Jessica McDonald and Julie Johnston (Ertz).
“For the past 14 months, I’ve sat back, watched and listened as I’ve completed my analysis on soccer as a whole in the area. The insight I’ve gained is what has led to today’s announcement as the time for action is now upon us. For far too long, players and families have been sold a “bill of goods” as clubs and coaches have over-promised and under-delivered. Well that ends today. Through the introduction of established and proven Age-Group Curriculums, Periodization Plans, Individual Development Plans, Coaching Education, Parent Education, College Coaches Panels, and many new exciting and innovative programs, Players North SC will now lead the way as the preeminent club in our area. It’s time for our families and players to receive a true return on their investment and for those in our community to be held accountable for their words through their actions,” said Jason Goodson.
“This is a breathtaking announcement for Players North SC, our families and most importantly our players,” said Players President Randy Ritter. “Jason’s level of experience as well as his proven track record in player development speaks for itself and is unmatched by anyone in the area.”
What others are saying:
“Jason has an unsurpassed wealth of knowledge in all levels and aspects of the game. He is extremely well respected across the country and by the most successful club and college coaches at the biggest programs. Most importantly, Jason is a class act as a person and he will bring a positive dynamic and influence to the club culture in Reno. A PHENOMENOL HIRE!” Walid and Ziad Khoury – DOC’s of Slammers F.C. “As my business partner and close personal friend, I consider Jason family and my excitement for him is only surpassed by knowing how monumental his hiring is for the players, coaches and families fortunate to be with him. This is a game changer for the community and the paradigm shift needed in order for true player development to occur within the area. Jason is amongst the best of the best and knowing him as I do, I can only suggest one thing… Get on Board and Hold on!”
