Players North Soccer Club, the largest and most prestigious youth soccer club in Northern Nevada with over 900 registered players and 67 active teams, announces a new affiliation with MVLA SC (https://mvlasc.org) and the introduction of Reno MVLA Soccer Club. Reno MVLA SC will change the landscape of club soccer in Northern Nevada. By providing the highest level of competition and training for players and teams; college and professional pathways; a player development curriculum with proven success; and unsurpassed coaching education and learning opportunities, the introduction of Reno MVLA SC raises the standard for soccer clubs in the Reno area.
MVLA SC, founded in 1972, is one of the most recognized and successful youth soccer clubs in the United States. A member of Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) with both their Boys and Girls programs, MVLA SC competes at the highest levels of youth soccer in the United States. 4 National Championships; 3 Regional Championships; 27 California State Championships; 29 US Youth National Team players; and 2 Youth World Cup players…are just a few of the notable accolades earned by MVLA teams and players over the years. Player development under Albertin Montoya (https://mvlasc.org/albertin-montoya/), Technical Director of MVLA, is the focus of the club and competitive success has followed as a result. Albertin, a former player for MVLA; US Youth National teams; North Carolina State; Santa Clara University; and the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS, has coached US Youth National Teams and WPSL teams in addition to his MVLA teams. He was named Soccer America’s Women’s Coach of the Year and a FIFA Women’s World Coach of the Year finalist.
Reno MVLA SC and Players SC (Las Vegas, NV) will continue to work together closely in support of youth soccer in Northern and Southern Nevada. The partnership has provided Northern Nevada players with countless opportunities to compete and experience elite competitions including USYS Regional and Championships; USYS National League and the Players Showcase. “A close relationship between both clubs has been very positive for Nevada youth soccer.
